Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Harford County

Authorities have issued a winter weather advisory for Harford County Wednesday morning.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Harford County. It is in effect from 2 to 8 a.m. Wednesday.

About 1 to 2 inches of snow are expected during the advisory period, according to weather officials.

Drivers should slow down and anticipate slippery roads that may affect their morning commute.

Schools in Harford County will open on a two-hour delay Wednesday.

Officials advise taking care when first walking outside Wednesday morning — sidewalks, steps and driveways may be slippery and icy.

The winter weather advisory applies to the following counties in Maryland:

  • Baltimore County
  • Carroll County
  • Frederick County
  • Harford County
  • Howard County
  • Montgomery County

Parts of northern Virginia — in Loudon County — are also under the advisory.

Forecasters say rain showers will mix with snow showers after midnight. There may be brief, heavier periods of snow that could lead to some snow accumulating on paved surfaces, but weather officials expect most snow will be on elevated areas.
