$10K Reward Offered for Suspect in Two Bank Robberies

Police believe the same man robbed the SunTrust Bank in Silver Spring and the Capital One Bank in Takoma Park.

A $10,000 reward is being offered for tips that lead to the arrest of a man suspected of bank robberies in Silver Spring and Takoma Park.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department and Takoma Park Police Department have released surveillance photographs of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help to identify him.

On July 30 at approximately 1:50 p.m., The suspect robbed the SunTrust Bank at 12052 Cherry Hill Road in Silver Spring on July 30, and may also have held up the Capital One Bank at 1181 University Boulevard East in Takoma Park on Aug. 6. Police say in both robberies the suspect approached a teller, passed a note that demanded money, and implied that he had a weapon. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled.

Anyone with information about this bank robbery suspect is asked to call 240-773-5070.

Tipsters may also call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest of this suspect. Tipsters will remain anonymous.
