19-Year-Old Charged In Armed Carjacking, String Of Robberies: Police
Police said Sean Charles Wright IV stole a minivan in Bethesda and used it to rob two Montgomery County businesses.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — A 19-year-old man is facing charges after police said he stole a minivan in Bethesda and later used it to rob two businesses.
Sean Charles Wright IV was arrested and charged with committing an armed carjacking and multiple armed robberies on Tuesday, Montgomery County police said in a news release.
According to police, officers were called to the 7100 block of Democracy Boulevard in Bethesda shortly after 8 a.m. after receiving a report of an armed carjacking. When police arrived, the victim told officers Wright approached the Toyota Sienna minivan and got into the passenger seat.

According to police, Wright then lifted his shirt, implying he had a handgun. Police said Wright demanded the victim get out of his vehicle and leave the keys. The victim complied and Wright drove away in the minivan, police said.
About an hour later, Rockville police were called to the 100 block of Rollins Avenue for a report of an armed robbery that just took place. According to police, Wright entered the store, walked behind the counter and demanded that the employee open the cash register. When the employee refused, Wright grabbed cash on the counter and left the store in the stolen minivan, authorities said.

Less than 10 minutes later, police said Wright entered a 7-Eleven in the 11500 block of Rockville Pike. According to authorities, Wright reached over the counter, assaulted an employee and demanded cash from the register. He then fled the scene with the stolen cash, police said.
As Wright left the 7-Eleven, a Rockville police officer saw him get into the stolen minivan. The officer approached the van and asked Wright to get out, police said. Wright complied, authorities said, but attempted to run away on foot.
He was arrested following a brief foot pursuit, police said.
