19th Annual Jolly Fat Man FUN Run/Walk to Benefit Operation Second Chance

Warm-up in front of Mon Ami Gabi: 7239 Woodmont Avenue. Race starts at Capital Crescent Trail: 4800 Bethesda Avenue (corner of Woodmont and Bethesda Ave.)

“JOLLY FAT MAN’S RUN” is the most fun and unique charity event you’ll attend all year...and it just got better! We are happy to announce our food sponsor, American Tap Room in Bethesda. Enjoy a hot breakfast after your race.

Remember, this is the last running event of the season. It’s laid back, no clocks, and no specific distance, just fun. Want to run three miles, it’s cool by us. Want to run 14 miles to Georgetown and back, go for it! There will be plenty of food waiting for you at the finish line.

Please note: In the event the run is cancelled due to weather, we will reschedule as soon as possible. Donations will not be refunded.

Those registering after Monday, December 1 risk receiving their shirts after run day due to our supplier’s ordering timelines. We will ship shirts ordered past December 1 after the event.

The Course: Our FUN Run/Walk will start at the Capital Crescent Trail and head toward Georgetown.

How far is the run? Who knows! It’s down and back, so it’s up to you! Go 4, 6, 10 miles or more!

Just make it back to the starting line by 10am and head to American Tap Room one block away, to get your hot breakfast. They are serving from 9-10:30am and they promise Fat Man runners extra food! Water and bathrooms are also available at Fletcher’s Boat House, 1/2 way to Georgetown at about the seven mile mark.

The Fat Man’s t-shirt is a silver, gender-specific long-sleeve performance shirt in either a woman’s or men’s cut. Ladies, this is an athletic cut shirt. If you are unfamiliar with the fit of athletic cut shirts, we suggest you order at least one size larger than your regular shirt size.

Raffle Prizes: When you register please consider making an extra $5 donation for Operation Second Chance and you will be included in a chance to win some incredible raffle prizes provided by our sponsors and some local merchants.

Early Packet Pick-Up/Happy Hour: Thursday, December 11th from 6:00pm-9:00pm, a Happy Hour Packet Pick Up at American Tap Room in Bethesda. Friends welcome. They are offering dinner and drink specials for run attendees.

Run-Day Packet Pick-Up: To keep things fun and easy, packet pick-up will be AFTER the run so you can start your fun run without worrying about where to put your belongings.

American Tap Room will be offering drink specials during breakfast, because you’ll deserve it! Bring your cash and a little extra for raffle tickets. We’ll also be raffling away more prizes!
