4 Charged in CVS Robbery, Suspected in 8 Other Store Holdups

Nine CVS, Rite Aid and 7-Eleven robberies around Montgomery County may be the work of four men arrested by police.

WHEATON, MD — A total of nine CVS, Rite Aid and 7-Eleven robberies around Montgomery County in the last month may be the work of four men arrested Thursday by Montgomery County Police. An alert officer searching for suspects who had robbed a CVS pharmacy at 12359 Georgia Ave. in Wheaton, and saw people inside a car duck down when he drove by.

The strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle and the occupants' close match to the description of the Wheaton robbers led police to take the foursome into custody on charges of armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. A search of the suspects’ vehicle turned up a loaded revolver, which one suspect said he used to strike a CVS employee with as they tried to rob the pharmacy.

The four suspects in custody are:

  • Ian Marquis Anderson, 19, of the 3500 block of Porter Avenue in Temple Hills
  • Tyrek Montez Arrington, 19, of the 6100 block of Mardella Boulevard in Clinton
  • Elhadj Malick Diallo, 22, of the 12500 block of Village Square Terrace in Rockville
  • Dillon Rashad Lewis, 23, of the 12900 block of Marlton Center Drive in Upper Marlboro

Detectives believe that the four suspects may be involved in the following commercial robberies that occurred around Montgomery County last month

  • January 20 at 4:40 a.m., CVS Pharmacy, 2271 Bel Pre Road in Silver Spring
  • January 26 at 2:45 a.m., CVS Pharmacy, 6917 Arlington Road in Bethesda
  • January 26 at 5:00 a.m., Rite Aid, 1411 East West Highway in Silver Spring
  • January 26 at 5:20 a.m., CVS Pharmacy, 7809 Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda
  • January 27 at 4:40 a.m., 7-Eleven, 8946 North Westland Drive in Gaithersburg
  • January 30 at 12:05 a.m., 7-Eleven, 10594 Metropolitan Avenue in Kensington
  • January 30 at 12:30 a.m., Rite Aid, 1411 East West Highway in Silver Spring
  • January 31 at 6:05 a.m., Sunoco gas station, 11355 Seven Locks Road in Rockville

The four suspects are being held without bond and are scheduled for bond review on Monday, February 6, at 1 p.m. in Rockville District Court.
