7 New Restaurants To Try In Downtown Bethesda

BETHESDA, MD — Whether you're craving authentic Middle Eastern cuisine or handcrafted gelato, there's no shortage of great restaurants and cafes in downtown Bethesda. A bunch of establishments opened their doors in recent months, according to Bethesda Urban Partnership. Check out which spots are new to downtown Bethesda below:

CherCher Ethiopian Cuisine

Located at 4921 Bethesda Avenue, this Michelin-recognized restaurant offers an authentic Ethiopian cuisine and a casual dining experience. Some items on CherCher's menu include Kitfo — a well-seasoned, finely chopped raw beef dish, Doro We’t — a chicken stew, and Yasa Tibs — fried Ethiopian-style tilapia fillet. Delina Eritrean Urban Kitchen

Looking to try a new cuisine? You might want to check out Delina Eritrean Urban Kitchen, a contemporary Ethiopian restaurant. Terrain Garden Cafe

Terrain Garden Cafe recently opened its fifth location in Bethesda. The plant-filled restaurant offers a seasonal menu of farm-fresh foods, indoor and outdoor seating, and the perfect backdrop for Instagram. The Big Greek Cafe

The owners of the fast-casual Greek chain restaurant say "relationships, family and community are built around sharing delicious meals." Popular dishes include the chicken souvlaki, grilled lamb chops, crispy kalamarakia and falafel. The Halal Guys

What started as a hot dog stand in New York City has expanded over the years into brick-and-mortar restaurants. Customers can get chicken, beef gyro, falafel or a chicken/gyro combo platters or sandwiches. There are also sides of hummus, falalfel, baba ganouj and french fries. Thelo Greek Grill

Founded in Bethesda, Thelo Greek Grill strives to create a cozy and intimate atmosphere for diners. On the menu, you'll find a range of traditional Greek dishes, including spanakotiropita — a spinach and feta pie, paithakia — also called lamb chops, and yeeros hirinos — known as pork gyro.
