93-Year-Old Driver Crashes on Bethesda Street
An elderly Bethesda woman lost control of her car and slammed into a tree on her block, police say. She was seriously injured.

BETHESDA, MD — An elderly Bethesda woman lost control of her car and crashed on her block, according to Montgomery County Police.
The rollover accident happened just after 9 a.m. Monday in the 8000 block of Whittier Boulevard. Investigators say a 2003 Buick Century turning left from eastbound Whittier Court onto northbound Whittier Boulevard left the road and struck a tree in front of 8015 Whittier Boulevard. After striking the tree, the Buick rolled onto the driver’s side.
The driver and sole occupant of the Buick was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police say the injured driver is Audrey Sloope Bell, 93, of the 8000 block of Whittier Boulevard.
