95-Year-Old Woman Dies Crossing Bethesda Street
Montgomery County Police say the woman died after she was hit by a BMW on River Road.

A 95-year-old Bethesda woman died Wednesday night when she was hit by a BMW while crossing a street, officials say.
The crash happened about 7 p.m. at the intersection of River Road and Springfield Drive.
Investigators say the pedestrian, identified as Margaret McDowell Wydro, 95, of the 6000 block Springfield Drive in Bethesda, was crossing River Road from south to north at Springfield Drive (toward the Kenwood Club) in the area of the marked crosswalk. A 2007 BMW 335i was eastbound on River Road (toward Washington, D.C.) and struck Wydro.

Police say Wydro died from her injuries at the scene.
The driver of the BMW is identified as Kenneth Samuel Bravman, 30, of the 4100 block of Albermarle Street NW in Washington, D.C.

Detectives continue to investigate what the traffic signal and pedestrian crossing signal showed at the time of the collision.
