President Trump is attributing the pool’s failures to vandalism and promising quick fixes, while investigators continue probing unexplained damage and earlier markings on the National Mall.

Federal authorities and President Trump are blaming vandalism for the pool’s woes, though officials have not substantiated those claims and algae and peeling paint remain unexplained.
