• Bike riders did the math on County's cycling network (mymcmedia.org) — Cyclists are pressing Montgomery County to turn Bethesda's new bike lanes and trails into a truly connected network, not scattered segments. Riders describe dangerous gaps around Woodmont and Bethesda Avenue and along Old Georgetown Road, while county officials cite funding and jurisdiction limits. The stakes are everyday trips to work, school, and Metro without mixing with fast traffic.
• Poolesville High ranked No. 2 in state by U.S. News (bethesdamagazine.com) — Bethesda families will notice Walt Whitman High ranked fourth in Maryland this year, while Walter Johnson held steady at 14th and Bethesda-Chevy Chase climbed to 17th in new U.S. News & World Report rankings. Poolesville High led Montgomery County at No. 2 statewide, with several other county schools shifting positions based on test performance, AP/IB participation, and graduation rates.
