New 26-Floor Residential Building OK'd For Downtown Bethesda: Report

The new building is expected to include 250 residential units, split between rental apartments and others up for sale.

BETHESDA, MD — A new residential building is in the works for downtown Bethesda after plans to tear down two office buildings were recently approved by county officials, according to a report.

Bethesda Today reported that the teardown and construction plans were given a unanimous go-ahead by the Montgomery County Planning Board on Thursday.

The new 250-unit residential development is planned for 4719 Hampden Lane and 4720 Montgomery Lane.

Plans indicate the development will be split between units for sale and for rent, a portion of which will fall under the county's moderately priced dwelling unit program.
