📰 News we're reading

• Cookie Chain Chip City Abruptly Closes Locations (patch.com) — Bethesda cookie lovers are losing a favorite spot as Chip City shuts down its shop on Elm Street along with all its locations nationwide after business struggles. The closure leaves a dessert gap in the Shoppes of Bethesda, though an Arlington bakery is temporarily honoring Chip City gift cards and hiring for new positions.

• MCPS promises 'dialogue' to address antisemitism (bethesdamagazine.com) — MCPS is pledging ongoing dialogue with Jewish clergy and advocates after a swastika was found at Walter Johnson High School in Bethesda and other incidents were reported across the county. District leaders say they're exploring stronger training, clearer guidelines, and more explicit communication, while Jewish organizations are pressing for faster, concrete action to protect students now.

• Wing House, Bethesda, Maryland (e-architect.com) — A striking renovation of the Wing House on Wyandot Court in Bethesda has transformed a 1950s split-level into a three-story, 5,000-square-foot modern home with a dramatic butterfly roof. Architects reconfigured every interior space, added a two-story living and dining area, and created a new owner's suite, gym, and upgraded systems while retaining over half of the original structure.
