Is Anne Arundel Going to Get Any More Snow This Winter?
Temperatures surged into the 70s in early February, so is Anne Arundel County likely to see a snowstorm before spring starts?

ANNAPOLIS, MD — If you're a fan of snow, this winter has been a pretty big disappointment so far in Anne Arundel County. While the Northeast was pounded by blizzard conditions last week, we experienced temperatures in the 70s. So will we get snowfall before spring arrives in only a few weeks?
The forecast doesn't look good for snowfall, at least in the near future. Temperatures will hover in the mid- to upper 40s during the work week, but should again climb into the low-60s by the weekend, says the National Weather Service. There are no precipitation chances in the next week, but any that do pop up should fall as rain.
That doesn't leave much time for snowfall to hit for the rest of the winter, as we'll be into late February next week. And although temperatures are expected to dip, they're still probably going to be too warm for snowfall.
Weather.com forecasts that highs will hover in the high 40s to about 50 degrees throughout the week, which is about average for this time of year in the D.C. area. That's too high for snow to form, however, and the week after is expected to be even warmer, with temperatures surging back into the mid to high 50s and 60s.

That's not to say that snow is an impossibility after February closes out. As anyone who has lived in the area for a while knows, winter tends to hang around in March, even if the first day of spring is March 20. In 2015, the D.C. area got hammered by a snowstorm that dropped about a half a foot of snow on the region, with Dulles International Airport getting 8.6 inches. And March 2014 saw 12.7 inches of snow after two major storms, according to a WTOP report.
So if you love snow, don't give up hope on a fresh blanket of the white stuff despite a incredibly warm February -- March tends to have a few surprises up its sleeve.
