Apartment Fire Causes $1M in Damage: Officials

2 firefighters injured. Montgomery County Fire says fire was accidental on Dudley Lane.

A fire in a Bethesda home overnight was due to a dryer vent catching fire accidentally. The fire at 5114 Dudley Lane likely caused $1 million in damage, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue.

Units were called soon after 3 a.m. Sunday to the fire. Two firefighter had minor injuries. No residents in the 4-story apartment building were injured.

About 140 firefighters were called to the scene, according to NBCWashington.

Three occupied apartments, a model unit, and the leasing office were damaged, Montgomery Fire spokesman Pete Piringer told WTOP.
