Bethesda Country Day School Donates More Than 850 Food Items

Bethesda Country Day School students supported Manna Food Center and Toys for Tots during the holiday season

Students at Bethesda Country Day School in Bethesda recently held a food drive to support Manna Food Center in Gaithersburg. Over a two-week period in November, students worked together to collect more than 850 food items to help stock the organization’s shelves and feed community members during the holiday season. Additionally, in December, students held a toy drive to collect gifts for local children in need through Toys for Tots. Through their efforts, students learned the importance of giving to others, especially during the holiday season.

Since 1983, Manna Food Center has worked to fight hunger, feed hope and transition recipients from a place of scarcity to prosperity. The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program’s mission is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute the toys as gifts to less fortunate children in the community.
