PetSafe is hosting an online contest and the prize is $100,000 to build a PetSafe dog park. Bethesda has an entry in the contest and can be found here.
While Bethesda has the Cabin John Dog Park at 10900 Westlake Drive, it is a contender in the PetSafe competition. Located near the miniature train in Cabin John Regional Park, the half-acre dog park is enclosed with a 6-foot chain link fence, allowing dogs to run and exercise off-leash. The facility is open for use sunrise to sunset except on Tuesdays from 9 to 11 a.m. for weekly park maintenance.
The facility also includes picnic tables, mutt mitt dispensers and water fountains, as well as a larger mulched area with dog play equipment.
