Bethesda House Fire Damage Estimated at $200K

A Bethesda family and their four pets were left without a home after a fire Sunday night, authorities said.

BETHESDA, MD — A Bethesda family is without a home after a fire Sunday night caused an estimated $200,000 damage to their house, authorities said.

Montgomery County firefighters are trying to determine what caused the fire about 8 p.m. at 5817 Sonoma Road.

Fire and Rescue Services spokesman Pete Piringer said the residents were not home when the fire started and no injuries were reported.

The family of three and their four pets were displaced from the two-story house by the fire, Piringer said.
