UPDATE: Bethesda Man Charged in Arson Fires That Caused $100K Damage
Three fires on Wednesday in the Edgemoor neighborhood have been classified as arson and an arrest was made Friday.

Authorities have charged a Bethesda man with three counts of arson after at least three vehicle fires were reported in Bethesda’s Edgemoor neighborhood.

Mansour Benkreira, 20, of Bethesda was arrested in the case, officials said Friday.
Mongtomery County Fire and Rescue Spokesperson Pete Piringer said damage from the Wednesday fires was estimated at more than $100,000.

BethesdaNow cites police charging documents that say a home security system on Glenbrook Road showed Benkreira and an unidentified accomplice setting a fire. The two walked up to a Range Rover just before 6 a.m., opened the vehicle’s front doors, searched the vehicle and then started a fire.
