Bethesda Man Found Dead Near GW Parkway

A Bethesda man was found two dead by US Park Police two days after he was reported missing; foul play is not suspected.

BETHESDA, MD — The body of a Bethesda man who was reported missing on July 27 was found two days later in a wooded area off the George Washington Memorial Parkway, authorities said.

Alejandro G. Arlia, 51, of the 6800 block of Millwood Road in Bethesda, was last seen at his home about noon on Wednesday, July 27.

Montgomery County Police last week released a description of Arlia and asked for the public to report any sightings of him. Family and police were concerned for his emotional and physical welfare.

On Monday, police said Arlia was found deceased on July 29 by officers from the United States Park Police. His body was found on U.S. Park Police property near the George Washington Parkway.

No foul play is suspected, county police said.
