  • The Anatomy of Sports is a free workshop open to the public at the National Museum of Health and Medicine to learn how bones and muscles work together for optimal sports performance. Workshop starts at 10:30 a.m.
  • Model trains will be on display during Train Day at Gaithersburg’s Community Museum from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • AFI Silver Theatre is hosting classic Looney Tunes cartoons this month on weekend mornings at 11 a.m.
  • The 14th Annual African Cultural Festival takes place this weekend at Veterans Plaza from 1 to 8 p.m. The festival features music, dance performances, African cuisine, games and much more.
  • The Agricultural Fair continues at the county fairgrounds. The Haai Shark Encounter is new this year with shows at noon, 2, 4 and 8 p.m.
  • The Hipocrites, a Chicago-based repertory company, present The Pirates of Penzance rotating with The Mikado at Olney Theatre. Today you may choose The Mikado at 1 p.m. or The Pirates of Penzance at 7:45 p.m.
  • Arts on the Green and Wildwood Summer Theatre presents the final performances of the musical Nine at Gaithersburg’s Arts Barn at 2 and 8 p.m.
  • It’s comedy night at Bethesda Blues & Jazz Club with Joe Clair & Friends. Two performances at 5 and 9:30 p.m.
  • BandHouse Gigs presents a tribute to David Bowie at the Fillmore Silver Spring at 7:30 p.m.
