Bethesda Traffic Alert: Roadwork Scheduled For Next 2 Weekends
Old Georgetown Road, near the National Institutes of Health, will be partially closed for the next two weekends for roadwork.

BETHESDA, MD — Old Georgetown Road will be partially closed for the next two weekends for roadwork, according to a press briefing.
The Maryland State Highway Administration will shut down two lanes on northbound and southbound Old Georgetown Road from Johnson Avenue to Sonoma Road, near the National Institutes of Health. The closures will enable crews to build bus pads on the road, which are the concrete spaces in front of a bus stop.
The first closures will start 8 p.m. Friday. The lanes should reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, weather and progress dependent. Closures are also scheduled for the following weekend, from 8 p.m. July 28 through 5 a.m. July 31.
