Bethesda Weekend: Zombie Walk, Tina Turner Tribute, Garrison Keillor at Strathmore, Trail of Nightmares
Not So Spooky Skate, Second City on tour, "Angels in America," Field of Screams, Boo at the Barn + more Montgomery County weekend events.

BETHESDA, MD — Here are some of the theater productions, live music performances and other weekend activities happening Oct. 28-30.
Friday, October 28:
- The Roundhouse Theater’s production of Angels in America closes Sunday.
- Kids are encouraged to come in costume to Cabin John Ice Rink’s Not So Spooky Skate.
- Residents can take a walk along Damascus Community Recreation Center’s Bates Trail of Nightmares.
- Tour the Fear Factory haunted house while supporting youth programs.
- Take a walk through one of Montgomery County’s most popular Halloween attractions, Markhoff’s Haunted Forest. Field of Screams is also open tonight.
- Australian acrobatics group Gravity & Other Myths perform at BlackRock.
- Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club presents a musical tribute to Tina Turner.
- The Second City Touring Company perform at Montgomery College’s Cultural Arts Center in Silver Spring.

- Sandy Spring Museum has a special effects makeup workshop for Halloween.
- Pumpkin Rock N’ Roll at Warner Circle Park in Kensington includes a pumpkin derby, costume contest and parade, music and more for a family Halloween festival. RSVP online to avoid lines on site.
- Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Ross Boddy Neighborhood Recreation Center will include tours of the renovated center.
- Elementary school aged children are invited to a Costume Jam at the Coffield Community Recreation Center. Expect music, games, line dancing, face painting, a moon bounce and a costume parade and contest.
- Glen Echo’s Fall Frolic is an annual Halloween-themed family event.
- “Trick for a Treat” Skate jam at the Gaithersburg Skate Park includes three levels of skating competition.
- The Roundhouse Theater’s production of Angels in America closes Sunday.
- Australian acrobatics group Gravity & Other Myths perform at BlackRock.
- Strathmore’s Artists in Residence perform a Cabaret at AMP by Strathmore.
- Floyds Row performs contemporary and experimental chamber music at Gaithersburg’s Arts Barn. The group performs Jackaroe in this YouTube video.

- Grammy award winning jazz vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant performs at the Bethesda Blues & Jazz.
- Silver Spring’s annual Zombie Walk begins at Art’s Alley, behind Denizens Brewing Co.
Sunday, October 30:
- Classical pianist Denis Matsuev performs Beethoven Sonata No. 31 at Strathmore.
- Australian acrobatics group Gravity & Other Myths perform at BlackRock.
- The final performance of Roundhouse Theater’s production of Angels in America is today.
- Boo at the Barn family event features art activities, games, a costume parade and trick-or-treating at the Gaithersburg Arts Barn.
- October is National Energy Action month and the Department of Environmental Protection will showcase energy saving tips at five different libraries across the county for its Energy Exploration event.
- Take a walk through one of Montgomery County’s most popular Halloween attractions, Markhoff’s Haunted Forest. Field of Screams is also open tonight.
- Grammy award winning jazz vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant performs at the Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club.
