Body Found in Creek By Northwest Branch Trail: Police

Montgomery County Police are investigating the death of the person found near the inner-loop of I-495 in Silver Spring.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County Police are investigating a death after a body was found late Tuesday near the Northwest Branch Trail in Silver Spring.

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division were in the area about 11 p.m. near the inner-loop of I-495 in Silver Spring when they found a deceased person in the creek along the trail.

Police have not said why they were in the area, whether the victim is a man or a woman, or if there are signs pointing to a possible cause of death.

An autopsy will be done by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore to determine the cause of death.
