Boys Charged With Acts Of Vandalism At Middle School In Bethesda

Two boys from Bethesda have been arrested in connection with several acts of vandalism at Pyle Middle School, Montgomery County Police said.

BETHESDA, MD — Two boys from Bethesda have been arrested in connection with several acts of vandalism at Pyle Middle School, according to the Montgomery County Police Department.

On June 25 at about 11:35 p.m., Montgomery County Police officers were called to Pyle Middle School in the 6300 block of Wilson Lane in Bethesda, for the report of a vandalism that just occurred.

A police officer spoke with school security, who said they saw two boys painting graffiti on the back of the school building. They were seen leaving the area on bicycles.

The second incident at Pyle Middle School occurred on July 20. A police officer met with the school principal, who said two boys were seen spray-painting vulgarities on the school walls, basketball court and track. The principal said the boys appeared to be the same suspects involved in the vandalism at the school on June 25.

Officers were called to the school again on Aug. 21 where they found a wall near the baseball field vandalized with spray paint.

The two boys were identified and charged on Aug. 24 and Aug. 26, with three counts of malicious destruction of property, related to the acts of vandalism on the three dates. The boys were released to their parents and their cases are now being handled by the Montgomery County Department of Juvenile Services.

Montgomery County Public Schools may apply disciplinary measures based on the Montgomery County Public Schools student code of conduct, police said.
