Bethesda Country Day School students and community celebrate cultural diversity
Bethesda Country Day School held its annual International Potluck Dinner last week, celebrating culture and diversity in the community.
Bethesda Country Day School held its revitalized International Potluck Dinner last Thursday, May 16. The event was a parent and student-led dinner to celebrate the school’s diversity. Families and staff brought dishes from their native countries, and students performed dances and songs from cultures around the world. The event was well-attended, and showcased the many cultures that are alive in the Bethesda community.
When asked why the school felt it important to revitalize the event, Principal Diane Whaples explained that, "we want to be sure to celebrate our entire community. Our school embraces over 50 different cultures, and we learn lots from one another."
