Passport DC: May is the Month for International Events

Cultural Tourism DC is presenting Passport DC, a month-long program of international events with embassy tours on Saturday, May 4 and Saturday, May 11 and international cultural activities May 1-31.

 

Cultural Tourism DC is presenting the sixth annual month-long program of international events in celebration of the more than 70 embassies in the city.   Residents and visitors have an opportunity to experience authentic food, music, dance and art of nations across the globe with tours of embassies and international cultural activities.

European Month of Culture | May 1-31

Residents and visitors can enjoy a program of musical performances, art exhibits, film screenings, and lectures that highlight the culture of the 27 European Union Member States plus Croatia, joining the EU July 2013.  Venues include the National Gallery of Art, the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage, the Phillips Collection, American University, EU Embassies, EU Cultural Institutes, among others. Of Special Note:

The Royal Netherlands Embassy will be participating in the annual European Union Open House on Saturday, May 11 for the first time.  The embassy is located at 4200 Linnean Avenue, NW near the Van Ness-UDC Metro station. 

Many embassies are located along Massachusetts Avenue and within walking distance of the Dupont Circle and Van Ness Metro stations.  Complimentary shuttle bus service is available and travels three separate loops from 10 am to 4 pm.

Volunteer opportunities are available at select embassies as a part of the embassies' open house tours.
