BETHESDA, MD — Fogo de Chão, a popular Brazilian steakhouse, is opening at North Bethesda's Pike & Rose development on June 24. The South American-born churrascaria will set up shop at 11600 Old Georgetown Rd., making it the restaurant's 41st U.S. location.

"This year marks our 40th anniversary with the opening of our 41st U.S. location in North Bethesda. Our steady growth is a testament to the appeal of our unique concept, high quality hospitality and thoughtful innovation to our new and loyal guests," said Barry McGowan, CEO of Fogo de Chão. "With our authentic Southern Brazilian culture and cuisine, guests can expect to receive the same experience here in North Bethesda that they would at any of our locations in Brazil."

Fogo de Chão specializes in churrasco cooking, which involves roasting high-quality cuts of meats over an open flame.

General Manager and Head Gaucho Chef Moises Lopes is at the helm of the restaurant's expansive menu, which includes favorites like ribeye, lamb chops, and the house-specialty, Picanha — the most prized Brazilian steak.

Fogo de Chão will offer a range of menu selections and prices to accommodate guests. They include:

  • Full Churrasco Experience – The traditional prix fixe menu includes all premium and classic cuts, plus the fresh and seasonal Market Table & Feijoada Bar and authentic Brazilian side dishes.
  • Dry Aged Cuts – Guests can add to their Fogo experience by treating themselves to a decadent 32 oz. long bone Tomahawk Ribeye or a 24 oz. New York Strip for the table. Each is aged a minimum of 42 days
  • Select Cut starting at $30 – Guest chooses one selection of fire-roasted meat to accompany the Market Table & Feijoada Bar and Brazilian sides.
  • Brazilian Cuts - Continuous service of the most popular fire-roasted cuts of Brazil and the Market Table & Feijoada Bar.
  • Weekday Lunch starting at $15 – Includes the seasonal Market Table & Feijoada Bar plus family-style service of Brazilian side dishes. Guests may choose to add a single selection of fire-roasted meat or have the Full Churrasco Experience.

"Pike & Rose is a premier neighborhood and we believe our authentic Southern Brazilian culture and cuisine will be a great fit," said Lopes.

The North Bethesda Fogo de Chão will have approximately 300 seats and feature an expansive bar and al fresco dining, the restaurant announced. It is also expected to bring 85 new jobs to the area.
