Bus Service Restored Between Kensington, Friendship Heights
Montgomery County officials say RideOn Bus 34 will resume full service on April 8 after state highway work cut the route short.

Full service for Montgomery County’s RideOn Bus 34 will be restored to Cedar Lane, beginning with morning trips on Wednesday, April 8.
The bus route runs between Friendship Heights and Kensington, including stops on Cedar Lane and the Medical Center Metro Station on Rockville Pike.

Route 34 service had been forced to detour around Cedar Lane, via Beach Drive and Jones Bridge Road, because of construction on an State Highway Administration project to improve traffic and pedestrian access at the intersection of Rockville Pike/Cedar Lane, according to a county news release.
As of mid-February, the 34 bus was able to navigate through the construction zone along Cedar Lane toward Friendship Heights, but not in the direction of Kensington.

SHA has coordinated with RideOn to relocate construction barriers, so as of Wednesday morning the 34 bus will be able to drive through the work zone at Rockville Pike onto Cedar Lane toward the Kensington.
