Capitol Hill Meditation Class - Monday Evenings

AUGUST 2015: MEDITATIONS FORM THE NEW MEDITATION HANDBOOK

The meditations known as Lamrim will be the basis for the teachings and guided meditations this season. They are the Stages of the Path, originally taught by Buddha and then presented in a practical way by Atisha, a famous Indian scholar, for the Tibetans. The emphasis for this particular collection of Buddhist teachings was on practicality. The Lamrim is designed to be accessible and practicable for all people, even those of us with busy lives. By engaging in these meditations, we can deepen our insights and make our daily experiences meaningful. We can use these teachings to form a consistent meditation practice which allows us to remain calm and happy throughout our life.

Classes are suitable for beginners and those with experience. Teachings will be drawn from the text The New Meditation Handbook by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.
