'Carrie Pilby' Debuts in Bethesda

The movie debuted at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival, and now is promoting a limited theatrical release.

From ArcLight Cinemas: ArcLight Cinemas is celebrating the theatrical debut of the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival-premiered film Carrie Pilby, which is playing in a limited theatrical release starting this Friday 3/31 in LA, Chicago, San Diego, and Bethesda, MD.

Based on the bestselling novel by Caren Lissner, the film follows the titular character, a person of high intelligence who struggles to make sense of the world as it relates to morality, relationships, sex, and leaving her apartment. Highly regarded for it's largely female production team, Carrie Pilby is directed by Susan Johnson and produced by Susan Cartsonis and Suzanne Farwell, the producers who also brought to life films such as The Intern, It's Complicated, The Holiday, Something's Gotta Give, and What Women Want. The film stars Bel Powley as Carrie, with Vanessa Bayer, Colin O'Donoghue, William Moseley, Jason Ritter, Gabriel Byrne, and Nathan Lane.

This theatrical debut highlights ArcLight's support of getting film festival movies seen by larger audiences, particularly films produced and directed by women.
