Chevy Chase Gucci Store Strong-Arm Robbed: Police

Two suspects entered and assaulted the people in there, police say. Then, five suspects came in and stole over $20,000 in merchandise.

CHEVY CHASE, MD — A Chevy Chase department store fell victim to a strong-arm robbery Tuesday morning around 11:30 a.m., Montgomery County police said in a release. Police responded to the Gucci store at 5555 Wisconsin Ave. to learn two suspects entered and assaulted a man and a woman who worked there.

After the assaults, five more suspects entered the store, police say, and began stealing merchandise. The total loss was estimated between $20,000 and $30,000.

The suspects left the area in two passenger vehicles, police say, going south on Wisconsin Avenue to enter Washington, D.C.

Police are actively investigating the robbery. Anybody who has information is urged to call the Second District Investigative Section at 240-773-6710. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or an indictment for this crime.
