Commuter Alert: Expect Red Line Delays Near Bethesda

WMATA says an arcing insulator is causing track problems between Bethesda and the Medical Center stations.

An arcing insulator between the Bethesda Metro Station and the Medical Center Station has created delays for Red Line trains along the route Tuesday morning.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Spokesman Pete Piringer says on Twitter that firefighers are awaiting the WMATA emergency response team.

The Washington Area Metropolitan Transit Authority website says Red Line trains are single tracking between Medical Center and Friendship Heights because of the problem outside Medical Center. Riders should expect delays.
