February 19, 2014 (Bethesda, MD) – Cresa Washington DC, a corporate real estate advisory firm that exclusively represents tenants and specializes in the delivery of fully integrated services, announces today that it has elevated Matthew Ward to Principal.
Previously a Senior Vice President, Ward joined Bethesda-based Cresa Washington DC, which has other local offices in the District of Columbia and McLean, about three years ago.
He specializes in analyzing and structuring complex transactions on behalf of corporations, educational institutions, information-technology companies, law and professional-services firms, and non-profit organizations. Among Ward’s clients are BWW Law Group, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Paley Rothman.
Prior to coming on board at Cresa Washington DC, he served as Corporate Managing Director for Studley’s office in Tysons Corner. Ward, who has worked in commercial real estate for more than 13 years, also previously owned two residential-mortgage companies.
As a Principal, Ward says that he will continue to grow his own book of business, while also spending more time mentoring the next generation of tenant advisors at Cresa Washington DC.
“I want to lead by example,” says Ward, Cresa Washington DC’s top producer last year. “The environment at our firm is quite collaborative, and it’s also conducive to having a healthy work-life balance. It’s important that I play a key role in maintaining this type of environment for our younger colleagues.”
Away from the office, he is involved in numerous civic efforts. Ward is on the board of Most Valuable Kids, and he also served as an event committee member for the Bobby Mitchell Hall of Fame Golf Classic, which benefited The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
“We are extremely excited and pleased to name Matt a Principal at our firm,” says Richard Rhodes, a Managing Principal with Cresa Washington DC. “He exhibits all of the characteristics that we look for in our current and future leadership: Matt is a team player, provides guidance to others without the expectation of anything in return, has strong market experience and relationships in the business community, and devotes time to philanthropic endeavors. His promotion is well deserved.”
