Crews to Install 5 Electric-Vehicle Charging Stations in County Garages

County-owned parking garages in Bethesda, Silver Spring and Wheaton will have charging sites for electric vehicles this month.

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation’s parking management division is installing electric vehicle charging stations at five county-owned parking garages this month.

The five locations will each have one station providing service to two parking spaces.

The new locations are:

  • Woodmont Corner Garage (Garage 11) and Waverly Garage (Garage 47) in Bethesda
  • Cameron/Second Street Garage (Garage 7) and Kennett Street Garage (Garage 9) in Silver Spring
  • Amherst Garage (Garage 45) in Wheaton

Three stations servicing six parking spaces were installed in the Bethesda Capital Crescent Garage (Garage 31) in April.

All the stations are connected to the nationwide ChargePoint Network of searchable charging stations, are Chargepoint Level 2, and accept payment using a ChargePoint Network card or RFID enabled credit card.
