Crews Rescue Worker Injured At Bethesda Construction Site: MCFRS

First responders have rescued an injured worker who fell at Marriott headquarters' construction site in Bethesda.

BETHESDA, MD — An injured worker who had fallen at Marriott headquarters' construction site in Bethesda has been rescued, according to the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service.

First responders were dispatched to 7750 Wisconsin Ave. around noon to rescue an injured worker who fell in an area 40 to 50 feet below grade, MCFRS spokesman Pete Piringer said.

According to Piringer, emergency crews used a crane and hoist to rescue the worker. His injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

At this time, southbound Wisconsin Avenue will is closed between Cheltenham Drive and East-West Highway.

"This road closure may be for an extended time frame," Montgomery County Police said in a tweet. "Avoid the area and seek alternate routes."
