Downtown Silver Spring Dives Into Shark Week
Discovery Communications will host a jaw-some festival Friday night to celebrate the annual television event.

Discovery Communications welcomes residents to downtown Silver Spring to celebrate Discovery Channel’s 28th annual Shark Week on Friday night, according to a news release.
The event will begin with a free outdoor screening of Ninja Sharks, one of this year’s all new primetime specials. Shark Week began July 5 with the most hours of shark programming in its 28-year history, including 19 hours of prime time shows.
Discovery Channel’s Sr. Director of Production and Development Joe Schneier will join the festivities following the screening as host of a special Shark Week trivia contest.

Attendees can also enjoy photo opportunities with Chompie Jr. as well as a variety of jaw-some giveaways including fin hats, glow necklaces and Shark Week squirt toys.
The Rubén Montoya Band will be onsite for a live outdoor concert prior to the screening.

The celebration will be held at the Fountain Plaza at 923 Ellsworth Drive.
