Driver Flees Police Stop, Car Found in Flames
Police pulled three people from the burning car, one suffered life-threatening injuries, authorities say.

OLNEY, MD — A driver who reportedly fled from Montgomery County Police lost control of his car, which caught on fire with three people inside, authorities said.
Police reportedly tried to stop the 2011 Toyota Camry about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday pn southbound Layhill Road north of Georgia Avenue.
The driver refused to stop, continued on southbound Layhill Road, and turned north on Georgia Avenue, police say. As the driver approached the Olney area, the driver turned west on Emory Lane, where police lost sight of the Camry.

When officers crossed the Intercounty Connector, they spotted the Toyota off the roadway engulfed in flames.
Fact-acting officers removed the car’s three occupants -- two men and a woman -- from the car.

Authorities have not released the names of the man who drove the car or his passengers.
The driver was taken to a trauma center with life-threatening injuries, while the passengers were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
