Driver Injured When Car Falls 40 Feet From MoCo Parking Garage

Authorities said the car went through a railing on the parking structure's fifth floor before plunging to pavement below.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — A person suffered only minor injuries when the car they were in plunged from the fifth floor of a parking garage in Friendship Heights, authorities said.

According to Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson Pete Piringer, the incident happened around 8:20 a.m. Wednesday at The Barlow, a medical office building at 5454 Wisconsin Ave.

Piringer said the vehicle crashed through a railing of The Barlow’s parking structure, falling 40 feet before it landed on its roof near the garage's loading dock and entrance located on The Hills Plaza.

The driver was able to get out of the vehicle on his own, officials said. They were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No additional information about the driver was released.
