Elderly Driver Dies From Bethesda Accident Injuries

A Potomac man has died from injuries he suffered in a Bethesda car accident about two weeks ago, Montgomery County Police say.

BETHESDA, MD — A 92-year-old man has died from injuries he suffered in a Bethesda car accident about two weeks ago, Montgomery County Police say. The victim, Eugene Levine, 92, of the 8100 block of Inverness Ridge Road in Potomac, died on Friday.

The three-vehicle collision occurred July 19 at Rockledge Drive and Democracy Boulevard in North Bethesda. Investigators say a 1997 Chrysler Concord driven by Levine left a parking lot located at 6410 Rockledge Drive and attempted to turn southbound onto Rockledge Drive toward Democracy Boulevard. For unknown reasons, Levine's car struck and crossed over the concrete median and collided with a 2017 BMW 430i that was northbound on Rockledge Drive. The impact caused the BMW to strike a 2001 Nissan Maxima which was parked and unoccupied on Rockledge Drive.

Levine was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries; he died on July 28.
