Teen Lit & Taekwondo: Mike Mullin @the Library!

Teen Lit & Taekwondo

Bethesda Library Program for Teens:  Author Mike Mullin on Thursday, March 29, at 5pm.

If you have ever visited Yellowstone Park, you won’t want to miss this discussion of Ashfall by author Mike Mullin.  He has written a riveting story that revolves around the eruption of the mostly dormant volcano in the popular park.  In this story, the volcano erupts and spews ashes throughout the middle part of the United States.  It changes our climate, people start hoarding food and enforcing survival laws on their own.  Can one a young teen survive this disaster?  The book is in the library now, but copies of this one of National Public Radio's 2011's Top 5 YA Novels will also be for sale during the author presentation, thanks to an arrangement with Politics and Prose.  (The bookstore will donate a percentage of the proceeds to FOL, Bethesda.) In addition to signing books, the black-belt author will give a short Songaham Taekwondo demonstration.  Even if you are not planning a vacation to Yellowstone, you won’t want to miss this presentation!  Tell a teen, too.
