Arlington Biker Dies In Chevy Chase Crash

Montgomery County Police say an Arlington, Virginia, motorcyclist died Tuesday in a Chevy Chase crash with an SUV.

(Updated at 8:10 p.m.) CHEVY CHASE, MD — An Arlington, Virginia, motorcyclist died Tuesday morning when his bike collided with an SUV at a Chevy Chase intersection, say Montgomery County Police. Authorities released the victim's name Tuesday afternoon, along with that of the other driver involved in the crash.

Northbound Connecticut Avenue was closed at Thornapple Street for several hours because of the accident, which was reported shortly before 8 a.m. Tuesday. The motorcycle driver has been identified as Dean Michael Rusciolelli, 24, of the 3900 block of Washington Boulevard in Arlington. Rusciolelli was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Investigators say a 2004 GMC Yukon was making a left turn from southbound Connecticut Avenue onto eastbound Thornapple Street while Rusciolelli's 2008 Triumph Bonneville motorcycle was northbound on Connecticut Avenue approaching Thornapple Street. For reasons still under investigation, the Triumph motorcycle and the Yukon collided in the intersection.

The driver of the Yukon is Consuelo Y. Garcia-Trujillo, 50, of the 5700 block of 29th Avenue in Hyattsville. Garcia-Trujillo was not injured in the collision.
