Police Release Name of Victim in Jones Bridge Road Collision

One driver is dead and one seriously injured in early morning crash.

Update, 5:25 p.m.: Montgomery County police have released the identity of the victim who was killed in this morning's fatal crash in Bethesda, along with the name of another person who was injured.

Christopher Gustavo Rosales, 29, of the 11600 block of Georgia Avenue in Wheaton, died on the scene. Police said he was driving a 2004 black 2004 Cadillac CTS eastbound on Jones Bridge Road when he lost control of the vehicle and collided with a Honda in the westbound lanes.

The driver of the Honda, Carol Lee Vondas, 30, of the 5500 block of Wilson Lane in Bethesda, was transported to Suburban Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said that Rosales had not been wearing his seatbelt. Vondas had been wearing a seatbelt.

Original post: A fatal crash occurred in the 4500 block of Jones Bridge Road in Bethesda at 1:45 a.m. Sunday, according to Montgomery County Police.

Preliminary reports indicate that the adult male driver of a black four-door sedan, traveling east on Jones Bridge Road, lost control and skidded into the westbound lanes, colliding with a four-door Honda. The driver in the black sedan died at the scene. The driver of the Honda was transported to a local hospital. 

The names of the drivers have not been released pending the notification of family members.
