Gaelynn Lea concert to benefit music outreach programs

Winner of NPR's Tiny Desk Concert headlines benefit concert to bring food, music and connection to those with limited access to the arts

Playing traditional fiddle music and original songs using her violin and a looping pedal, Gaelynn Lea creates music “imbued with a melancholic poetry so potent it must be heard to be believed.” (Isaac Feldberg, Boston Globe). Gaelynn captivated us with her haunting words and voice with her Tiny Desk Contest performance (https://www.npr.org/2016/03/10/469966998/gaelynn-lea-tiny-desk-concert), is an inspirational speaker and disability advocate, and is now touring with some new music. Proceeds from the November 20 concert will benefit SAW Serves, a music outreach program of the Songwriters’ Association of Washington and Loaves & Fishes, an outreach ministry of Bethesda United Methodiat Church. The concert will also include local opening acts In partnership with Focus Music (focusmusic.org). More info and tickets at http://saw.org/event-2669904 or contact president@saw.org
