Get Hands-On at Imagination Bethesda

The 21st annual Imagination Bethesda children’s street festival is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., according to a press release. Musical performances and professional children’s entertainers will light up the stage, while hands-on art and craft activities line Elm St. and Woodmont Avenue in downtown Bethesda.

Organized and managed by the Bethesda Urban Partnership, the festival will host 20 local businesses and arts organizations that will provide hands-on art and craft activities to entertain and energize the 12-and-under crowd. Additionally, the festival will feature face painters, balloonists, a stilt-walker, free giveaways and more.

Participants hosting hands-on activities for children include:

· Adventure Theatre MTC – Make birthday party hats for Garfield: The Musical with Cattitude

· Artworks Fine Art Studio – Pastel drawing

· Bach to Rock – Musical story time with drums and bells, musical exploration with instruments

· Bethesda Big Train – Make-your-own pinwheel and foam finger

· Be With Me Playseum – Paint a ceramic tile, create a cupcake with air dry clay

· Daisy Baby & Kids – Make daisy flowers out of paper plates and popsicle sticks

· Dansez! Dansez! – Make a bracelet with beads, storytelling and puzzles

· Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts & Culture – Make-your-own carousel

· Gymboree Play & Music – Movement to music, art project, parachute games

· Huntington Learning Center – Build your own math puzzle and symmetrical butterfly craft

· Imagination Stage – Temporary tattoos and fish coloring sheets

· Iran Cultural and Educational Center – arts and crafts from Iran, face painting and book mark making

· Joy of Motion – Dance demonstrations and parachute games

· KID Museum – 3D printed universal construction kit, marble run and zoetrope animation

· Kidville – Sticker foam frames and glitter tattoos

· Language Stars – Chinese lantern art project, bean bag toss and mark making

· Plaza Artist Materials – Decorate your own picture frame

· Round House Theatre – Create-your-own dramatic journeys map

· Strathmore – Hands on arts projects
