Girl Hit By School Bus in Bethesda

The Westland Middle School student was taken to the hospital for a checkup; injuries were described as minor.

BETHESDA, MD — A middle school student was taken to the hospital for a checkup after she was hit by a car while walking to a bus stop on Fairfax Road in Bethesda, authorities said Thursday.

Montgomery County Public Schools says the girl is a student at Westland Middle School, reports WTOP. She was walking to a bus stop in the 6700 block of Fairfax between Bradley Boulevard and Little Falls Parkway when she was hit.

The girl walked to the bus stop and the bus driver called 911. The driver remained at the accident scene, the police say.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services spokesman Pete Piringer said the girl suffered minor injuries, if any, but was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
