Girl Power Contest: Residents Can Submit Their Work By March 31

Montgomery County residents, ages 5 to 105, can submit short stories, poems, drawings, and other creative submissions. Deadline is March 31.

BETHESDA, MD — In honor of Women's History Month, the Montgomery County Commission for Women is inviting residents to participate in its annual Girl Power Contest.

The question: As we commemorate the 100th anniversary of women's right to vote, what barriers do you think still exist for women and girls and how can you help to break them?

County residents, ages 5 to 105, can submit short stories, poems, drawings, and other creative submissions. And they don't have to all be serious. Officials say submissions can be emotional, funny, and even spiritual.
