Gourmet Hot Dog Chain 'Dog Haus' To Open In Bethesda
Award-winning California-based hot dog chain Dog Hause is looking to move into the former Parva space in downtown Bethesda.
(Updated at 3:17 p.m. Monday) BETHESDA, MD — An award-winning California-based hot dog chain will move into the former Parva space in downtown Bethesda. Dog Haus has over 20 restaurants in the U.S. and this Woodmont Avenue location will be the first East Coast location.
The chain applied to Montgomery County for a liquor license for the 7904 Woodmont Ave. storefront. A sign on the door of the building indicates the Bethesda location will be one of the restaurant's "biergarten" locations, meaning it will serve a larger selection of beer than other Dog Haus locations.
Dog Haus is a gourmet-yet-casual dining concept that takes dogs, sausages and burgers to a new level with crazy flavor combinations like the "Cowboy" with smoked bacon and bbq sauce. The fast-casual, gourmet concept has garnered critical acclaim and national attention for its signature all beef skinless Haus Dogs, hand crafted proprietary Haus Sausages and premium Haus Burgers made from humanely raised cattle, all served on grilled Hawaiian rolls.

Other choices include the "Sooo Cali" with wild arugula, spicy basil aioli, crispy onions, avocado and tomato or the "Old Town Dog" which is a smoked bacon wrapped dog with caramelized onions, pickled jalapeños, chipotle aioli and cotija cheese. They also serve sausages, burgers, sliders and desserts. Biergarten locations serve about ten beers on tap, as well as bottles, wine and saki.
In 2016, Dog Hause announced a $500 million franchising deal with American Development Partners to open over 300 new locations in 12 states over the next seven years.
