"Holiday Hot Spots" To Check Out This Winter
Plenty of places in Montgomery County are holding holiday events and activities this winter.

From Federal Realty Investment Trust: Federal Realty Investment Trust has announced its “Holiday Hot Spots” located throughout Montgomery County at destinations including Pike & Rose, Rockville Town Center, Congressional Plaza, Bethesda Row and Wildwood Shopping Center. From man-made snowfalls on Friday and Saturday evenings to pet photos with Santa and ice skating, Federal Realty is setting the stage for memorable and picture-perfect holiday experiences at its developments.
“Togetherness is the ultimate gift this holiday season and we are inviting the community to come and enjoy new experiences throughout Montgomery County,” said Jill McCarthy, Marketing Director, Federal Realty. “Our Holiday Hot Spots offer an opportunity for people across the metro region to celebrate and make memories together.”

Pike & Rose:
- “Let It Snow” in Rose Park on Fridays and Saturdays beginning Friday, November 16 through Saturday, December 22. “Snow” will fall at 6 p.m., 7 p.m., and 8 p.m. to the sounds of favorite holiday songs.
Rockville Town Center:

- Annual Tree Lighting, Friday, November 16, with holiday festivities from 6 - 9 p.m.
- Ice skating rink – open now through March 17, 2019.
Congressional Plaza
- Open House on Saturday, December 1 and Sunday, December 2 – celebrate the holiday season with merchant specials, live music, strolling entertainment, face painting, balloon twisting and photos with Santa.
- Snap pics in front of the #OhWhatFun Insta Wall (a holiday photo backdrop), post to Instagram using #OhWhatFun throughDecember 31 and register for a chance to win a $500 gift bag from Federal Realty Property retail establishments.
Bethesda Row:
- Menorah Lighting hosted by Chabad of Bethesda on Sunday, December 2, 5-6:30 p.m., for a candy themed Chanukah celebration.
- With a $5 donation, four-legged and other furry friends can take a photo with Santa Claus on Saturday, December 8 from 12-3 p.m. Proceeds will benefit DC Lucky Dog Animal Rescue, and participating merchants will offer specials and treats.
- Snap pics in front of the Insta Ivy Wall on Bethesda Lane through December 31, post to Instagram using #OhWhatFun and register for a chance to win a $500 gift bag from Federal Realty Property retail establishments.
Wildwood Shopping Center:
- Open House on Saturday, December 8 will feature live music, strolling entertainment, restaurant food and drink samples and specials in stores and restaurants all day.
- Capture a photo in front of the Insta Ivy Wall next to Chop’t, through December 31, post pics to Instagram using #OhWhatFun and register for a chance to win a $500 gift bag from Federal Realty Property retail establishments.
