Homeless Man Faces Arrest Warrants for Car Thefts

Montgomery County Police are asking the public for help locating Thomas Gupton, who hangs out in Bethesda.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspected car thief who may stay at area homeless shelters.

Thomas Earl Gupton, 43, of an unknown address, faces two arrest warrants charging him with two auto thefts from the Bethesda area.

Gupton is known to frequent Strathmore Street and Bradley Boulevard in Bethesda, police say, and may be staying at shelters in Washington, D.C., and in Montgomery County.

Detectives ask anyone with information on Gupton’s whereabouts to call the Montgomery County Police Department’s non-emergency number at 301-279-8000 or to contact the Central Auto Theft Section directly at 240-773-6370.
