How Much Maryland Households Make Per Year: New Census Report

CHEVY CHASE, MD — For those who can never stop comparing, the Census released an early Christmas gift. The 2013-2017 American Community Survey issued by the Census last week disclosed a mountain of data, including how much household income is reported in each Maryland community. Household incomes in Maryland lead the nation overall, with one county making the national top 10.

Cost of living aside, Maryland appears to be better off than much of the country. The statewide median household income is $78,916, far surpassing the nationwide median of $57,652. That was an increase compared to the previous period, when households brought home $72,999.

You can see the list of the top 350 communities' median household incomes below. Chevy Chase topped the list of towns and census designated places with a median household income of more than $250,000.
